There are three different types of music videos which are Performance, Narrative and Concept.
Performance Based:
Performance based music videos feature the band or artist performing either to the camera or to an audience.
Narrative Based:
A narrative based music video focuses on a particular storyline which is often related to the lyrics and genre of the song. However this is not always the case as some music videos follow different narrative to what the song it relating to.
Concept Based:
A concept based music video follows no storyline. This type of music videos seems to be unusual because of the style of filming which has been used and also in some cases the editing.
