Researching Brief Three

The third brief is all about producing two TV advertisements together with either a TV programme sponsorship or a radio advertisement.

To be able to look further into this brief I decided to divide it up into sections. I am firstly going to look at the whole idea of advertising and what it is. This will allow for me to get a boarder idea before moving on.

What is advertising:
Advertising is a non-personal form is promotion of a company or organisation that is delivered through multiple forms of media. It is looked upon as a method of mass promotion so that a single message can reach thousands of people.
Advertising can also be considered as a marketing communication which is used to persuade the target market to listen to what is being said and take action on what is being advertised. Most commonly, advertisements are paid for by the sponsors or the organisation whether they are being viewed through old media or new media. For example TV and radio as old media and the world wide web as a form of new media technology.

Forms of Advertising:
  • TV advert
  • Radio Advert
  • Poster
  • Flyer
  • Websites
 Why is advertising important:
Advertising is an important factor in helping to promote a company in terms of sales of their products and also the sale of the service in which they offer. It allows for them draw attention to their target market and get their target market more interested in their company. Furthermore it reassures the target market that they are buying the goods from the best company for the right price.
As well as targeting their target market, advertising allows a company or organisation to develop their brand and identity and make sure that its known as a well known brand that many people have heard off.

From this research, I have found out about advertising and why it is important. In my next piece of research I am going to look into TV advertising and some examples of TV adverts.
