TV Adverts- Brief Three

There are twelve different types of TV advertisements: (1)

  1. The Demo- A visual demonstration of the products capabilities.
  2. Show the Problem-The advertisement makes it clear that there's something not quite right in the customers life.
  3. Symbolize the Problem- Use of symbols or exaggerated graphics to illustrate the problem.
  4. Symbolize the Benefit -Symbols are used to drive on the point, but in this case its the benefit that is being shown and not the problem.
  5. Comparison-How your product is shown to me more superior than a competitive product.
  6. Exemplary Story- A narrative structured around the products benefits.
  7. Benefit causes a story- Story comes from the results of using the product.
  8. Testimonial-Uses a person to evaluate a product.
  9. On going characters and celebrities-  Recurring character or celebrity which helps top cement the advert into the viewers memory.
  10. Associated User Imagery-  Showcase the kind of people you hope to associate with your product.
  11. Unique Personality Property-Feature that makes your product stand out from the rest- could be the country the product comes from, the long story of history from the product, products memorable name or the companies fander.
  12. Parody or Borrowed Format- TV shows, movies, used to advertise for modern audiences.

From learning about the different types of advertising, I have now got more of an understanding of how different adverts are put together. Now I need to carry out some more research looking into different adverts which are already out there.
