- Show the Problem-The advertisement makes it clear that there's something not quite right in the customers life.
- Symbolize the Problem- Use of symbols or exaggerated graphics to illustrate the problem.
- Symbolize the Benefit -Symbols are used to drive on the point, but in this case its the benefit that is being shown and not the problem.
- Comparison-How your product is shown to me more superior than a competitive product.
- Exemplary Story- A narrative structured around the products benefits.
- Benefit causes a story- Story comes from the results of using the product.
- Testimonial-Uses a person to evaluate a product.
- On going characters and celebrities- Recurring character or celebrity which helps top cement the advert into the viewers memory.
- Associated User Imagery- Showcase the kind of people you hope to associate with your product.
- Unique Personality Property-Feature that makes your product stand out from the rest- could be the country the product comes from, the long story of history from the product, products memorable name or the companies fander.
- Parody or Borrowed Format- TV shows, movies, used to advertise for modern audiences.
From this research I have found out about the twelve different types of TV advertising. From learning about the different types of advertising, I have now got more of an understanding of how different adverts are put together. Now I need to carry out some more research looking into different adverts which are already out there.
