Above is the Kit Kat TV advert. Within the advert, the audience see a man working at a checkout within a supermarket. Non-diegetic sound of the music has been used within the background. This music used is quite peaceful which relates to the rest of the advert.
A long shot has been used at the beginning of the advert. Within this long shot, it has enabled the audience to see the setting of the advert. A close up in then used to show the man on the checkout scanning items across his forehand. This could connote that he is tried as he is working like a machine as it says later on in the advert.
Animation has also been used to break up the advert into different sections. The next section of the advert, shows the audience a red background with white writing with sans serif font. This font is clear and also easy to read making it stand out. The red background connotes and refers back to the Kit Kat in general as this is the colour they use for the main part of the packaging. Furthermore the white sans serif writing is also one of the companies main colours. By the company referring back to the their main colours all of the time it reinforces to their audience of the advert what the advert is for and also helps the audience to remember it in future.
The close up shot of the Kit Kat, then the mid shot of the man at the checkout picking up the Kit Kat, reinforces their main theme and their slogan of ' having a break'. Throughout the advert, the use of non diegetic sound has been used to emphasise the setting of a supermarket.
Additionally when the main part of their advert is finished, they are also included a little more advertising for themselves. Here they are included a voice over of something saying 'and you could win of over one million different prizes'. This will attract their target audience as you will see it as another benefit of having a Kit Kat.
Overall, I like the way this advert has been put together. The structure of the advert is very clever as they have clearly taken on board their slogan of 'have a break, have a Kit Kat' and incorporated it into this advert. Within this advert they have also stayed to the traditional conventions and have targeted a much wider target audience who will not only like the chocolate but also will be interested in winning prizes.
