Mentos Advert

This advert begins with a close up shot of a black board. Within this sort the use of diegetic and also no diegetic sound has been use. Diegetic sound has been used to emphasise the women drawing/ writing on the black board. This ad would target any one of their viewers due to it relating back to when many people used to be at school when teachers and students used to write on the black board with chalk.
The diegetic sound of the chalk scratching against the black board creates an unusual sound which is quite unusual. This sound can also be quite uncomfortable for the audience.  Furthermore the sound also relates to the product due to it advertising sour mentos. This sound could also be described a sour due to it having a 'sour' sound to it.
The protagonist in this advert is shown as being in the role of a teacher. Many mid shots and also close ups have been used of the the black board to show the creation of the board. All of the shots help the user to establish which product is being advertised.
Within this advert there is hardly any colour which reinforces the point of it being set back in a school when black boards and chalk were used. The only colour which has been used is for the protagonist, where the audience see her in full colour.
The ending shot shows the creation of the picture on the black board showing the design of the pack for the sour mentos.  This ending shot is different to most other adverts as commonly they show the actual packaging. This makes this advert unique and it also challenges the codes and conventions of most adverts which I have anaylsed before.
